Birding at Camp
Last week I had the oppurtunity to work at my summer camp for a week. I did some office work, gardening, and I made sure to bird everyday.
I saw 7 new birds species, breaking the 150 barrier. Hermit Thrush, Broad-winged Hawk, Solitary Sandpiper, Brown Thrasher, White Crowned Sparrow, White Throated Sparrow and Blackburnian Warbler. The White Crowned Sparrow was the really prize of the week, they spend their winters in the south and their summer in the far north. But throughout the week I saw them.
The solitary sandpiper was at the pond at silver lake and i chased it around the pond for 20 mins. It made me realize that i really need to get some binocluars.
