The Other Anabaptists →
Ryan did you know that most of the earlier anabaptists did not believe in non-violence.  It is kind of crazy, some were only peaceful for the moment because they were waiting until Jesus was going to come back and then they would start the war.  You should also know that the Dutch Mennonites that you say did not believe in violence are actually closely related the the “Other...

Birds keep running into my window.
abomb: It’s annoying because every time it happens I jump.  Stupid birds. If you want to stop the birds from running into the windows put bird feeders within 3 feet of them.  I know it seems as if this will cause them to hit more, but it does not. You can make them fairly easily, out of milk boxes and suction cups, or you can buy them. Even though birds fly away once they have hit your window, i...

marreka: mattcunnington: “Whatever a traffic engineer tells you to do, do the opposite and you’ll improve your community” — Fred Kent This seems horribly irresponsible. “Let’s not listen to the guy who knows network-flow optimization”. Many engineers would suggest to build up the capacity of the road network.  This would be better for cars, but not everybody.  Congestion can be a good...

Jellyfish threaten to 'dominate' oceans →
marreka: erikthefrosh: This article talks about how the oceans could be filled with sumo wrestler sized jelly fish. Apartently we are eating so many fish that we have changed the ecosystem. Allowing Jellyfish to take over as the most common sea creature.  And to make it worse areas that are really polluted can support jellyfish life but not regular fish life. That’s fine. We can eat Jellyfish...

What Should I plant in My Garden
childbearinghips: erikthefrosh: I have a garden and i need ideas of what to plant in it.  It is 40 feet squared, part shade to full shade.  There are three levels sperated by a rock wall.  There are already daylilies, irises and lilacs in it.  What else should I add? Hostas and Coral Bells are excellent for shade! And come in many wonderful varieties! Yo Amanda [and others] do you know any...

The New GI-Joe Trailer
I was at the movie theater last night and saw the trailer.  I have to say my favorite part was when they had the guy go throught the LRT.  But i think they could have made it better.  The Tram that they jumped through could have been the Cobra made by Bombardier.  This would literary genus because the movie’s sub title is the rise of the Cobra. Also the tram is really long, i am sure that...

lhard: Today I was running through the park and I realized I was so focussed on the path in front of me that I wasn’t seeing any of the beauty around me. God has provided this beautiful earth for us with trees, flowers, animals, lakes, and so much more. Even as I was thinking this I was looking a few feet in front of me. I concentrated so much on not tripping and keeping track of the upcoming...

As is common in the US (and becomng lamentably more so in Canada), a judge will end up deciding what the laws should be. Birding in London
Today I went on a birding adventure around my house.  I took a hour walk in the ravine, and saw four new bird species.  There were so many birds outside, it was a wonderful day. I have now reached 160 different birds.

More on the HSR →
marreka: erikthefrosh: The rail that is being suggested it not true high speed rail.  It would not be considered high speed any where outside of North America.  The North East corridor is going to be one of the sections of the system.  The Corridor takes just as long to drive as it does to take the train.  If they truly want to put highspeed in they need to do better than this. One of the...

Funny Story About the Bird Sanctuary
Well today while i was ‘studying’, well you know me.  Angie pointed out that there were too people staring at our window and they were not grebel people.  They were looking at the Bird Sanctuary for the longest time.  They were not looking at bird sanctuary saying ‘what is that??’  But they were pointing at all of the birds.  Then they walked away holding hands….

Song Sparrows
This morning i was in bed not wanting to wake up.  i heard a bird song that i did not know what type of bird it was from.  I did not want to get up, but the song continued so i did.  Outside my window playing in the grass was a song sparrow [138]. I have been talking about birds so much in our apartment that Kevin by himself was able to identify that there was a new bird species around.

Birds At Pilgram Marpeck Bird Sanctuary
As Kevin and I were hanging out in our living room, we saw the bigest bird to ever come to our feeders.  It was a Ring Billed Gull, better know as a sea gull. Yes it was trying to get the food from the feeders while hovering. It did not work, but was really funny

Black Diamond Cheese
Black Diamond cheese (kraft) has been on sale for a really long time.  Has anybody wondered why it has been on sale for like two weeks.  We the reason is because they have taken 40 g out of the amount of cheese that you buy but have kept the price the same.  Kevin and I were comparing prices and then checked the wieghts again when get got home.  They just raised the price but nobody is going...
